In Loving Memory of Molly Lee Hui Li (1975-2008)

On 29 May 2008, Molly Lee's physical body finally succumbed to cancer. She passed away peacefully at 12.10am. She was 33.

I never knew Molly personally. Her cancer-fighting journey was featured in the April 08 issue of Vanilla. I read about her and was touched by her determination, courage and readiness to fight this battle.

In July 08 issue, I read with deep sadness that she lost the battle eventually - I cried - she fought a good fight. She was married only a year. She was only 33.

I'm once again reminded that life is too short, too fragile and too often unpredictable to wallow in unhappiness. I'm reminded to be thankful for what I have and not complain, to be kind to people I meet for they may be fighting an illness, to dare to chase the dreams (and even though I may not succeed, at least, I've tried), and to cherish the people (and animals) I love. I've learnt and accepted - that life will never be perfect. And it is the imperfection that makes life real and happiness, precious.

Rest in peace, Molly.

You are always with me - you’re always there.
In my dreams - though I am wide awake.
