What's a true friend?

Some friends, you thought were true but maybe, they are not so true afterall. So, what really defines a true friend?

I have recently been enlightened - some friends may not deserve my friendship afterall, even those I know for more than two decades. I hate it when they appear for a reason, like perhaps they have an invite to send or when they need help. I have decided that such friends will be struck off my list, for good.
