Ipanema Gisele Bundchen.

I'm thrilled I managed to get myself a pair of Ipanema Gisele Bundchen Sandal from Royal Sporting House yesterday evening at a discounted price. The sandal is light, comfy & waterproof! What's best is that the company behind the brand is environmental-friendly & believes in ethical employment principles. I'm glad I made this meaningful purchase.

Some background info:

Grendene, the Brazilian company behind Ipanema is one of the world’s largest footwear producers. Its 22,000 employees produced 176 million pairs of shoes in 2006. They also own the world’s largest mould-making factory and they are one of Brazil’s largest export companies. They export their brands, IPANEMA, GRENDHA and RIDER to 85 countries. Inspite of their size, they are a family-owned company. They are incredibly proud of their environmentally-friendly company and ethical employment principles. Workers at their factories, all of whom are over sixteen years of age, enjoy dental and medical facilities on site, family planning education, transportation and recreational facilities. Grendene’s work with Brazilian supermodel Gisele and the Amazonian Indians is establishing identification with themes of sustainability and corporate responsibility.

Gisele Bündchen is the highest paid model in the world but she is not as well known as some of the other supermodels as she is very selective with the products that she endorses. She has always been passionate about environmental issues and she has been involved with Amazon charities for several years. Gisele has described this project as ‘A symbol of Brazilian cultural and biological diversity’. Very few supermodels would spend 5 days in the Amazon making a promotion film; she is a real ambassador for Brazil.

Carrie Necklace.

Ever since Sex and the City, I've been attracted to the Carrie Necklace. I think it's kindda cool because it is so personalised. Of course, I wouldn't want it in gold. I prefer sterling silver, stainless steel or white gold. :)

I dunno why I think this way but personally, I think necklaces are initmate (perhaps I find the neck pretty sensual) accessories and are best gifted by a special someone, family or very close friends. In Carrie's case, if I recall correctly, her necklace was a gift by her three best friends - Miranda, Samantha & Charlotte.

My weekend

Collar for my Cookie

Met a good friend up last Fri for shopping, dinner and some gal talk. Bought a lovely hot pink collar for my cute little Cookie. My other damages were sustained at Fox while Sage's, at La Senza. I can't believe I got two cute tees of the same design in two colors - One red and one black + three more tops. Tsk tsk!

We had a most filling and sumptuous dinner at Waraku Marina Square over catching up, laughter and gossip.

Same afternoon, I received nice compliments from a colleague with great personality about me looking good in my Hypnosis tee. Another thought I looked somewhat diff from usual. Well, I do feel flattered but I wasn't wearing anything new. Perhaps, it was my earrings and my well-behaved hair that day? :)

Charles and Keith

Met my good friends up for a surprise birthday dinner for a cute friend. Got him a simple black tee from Converse. Couldn't find anything suitable at Levi's, Adidas or Esprit. But, I got myself a hot pink clutch from Esprit. Eww. Me so into hot pink and deep red nowadays. I also got myself another white bag from Charles & keith (I think their designs' getting better and better). Ouch! (my pocket hurts) However, I think the bag looks good when I'm in my all black blinky outfit and white silver-ish flip flop. I'm the laid-back gal. Comfy sassy is my style.

We had dinner at Changi Village. Good food, good friends - what else can I ask for? :)

Chanel Paris Biarritz

The limited edition croc bags from Chanel's Paris Biarritz line. The line is inspired by the world-famous holiday resort on the Basque coast of south-west France where Coco Chanel opened her boutique in 1915. The Kaiser designed the line for the Parisian jet set who loves the resort in addition to paying homage to the original jet setting mademoiselle, Coco Chanel. The croc totes are available in three sizes.

This is what USD45,000 will buy you... you can always sleep in it and write it off as lodging expense when you travel!

USD45,000??!!! Madness!!
