Sex and the City

I never really had a chance to watch the famous Sex and the City until now.

Despite the outrageous outfits and lifestyles, the series worked brilliantly for six seasons because the women it featured were utterly believable. Each woman represented a female archetype. There was prissy Charlotte, ever-sexual Samantha, fiercely independent Miranda, and lovelorn and fallible Carrie. Most women are combinations (in varying degrees of percentages) of the four, and therefore found something instantly relatable in each of the characters. Whether you were a prude or wildly promiscuous, you could feel their pain.

Finally I understand why some of my girlfriends are so addicted. I guess, to a large extent, as women, we could relate. And, women always need their best friends.

"No matter who broke your heart, or how long it takes to heal, you'll never get through it without your friends." - Carrie Bradshaw

Out of sheer fun, I took a quick quiz on which SATC character I'm most likely am. It turns out I'm more of Carrie, which I reckon is the closest - when it comes to romance, I'm really old-fashioned. I like the guy to take the initiative. And lasting love? Of cos. ; )

The results: Is it possible to be an old-fashioned romantic and a fashionplate for the modern age, all at once? Somehow, you make it work. You're a living contradiction: intelligent and worldly, yet constantly surprised by what life throws at you; fiercely independent, yet desperately longing for lasting love. With all of that going on in your head, it's a wonder you even get up in the morning!

The SATC man for me?

Irresistibly charming, laid-back sex appeal, warm, accessible and not afraid to make a commitment sure sounds attractive to me. ; P
