CHANEL N° 19

Chanel N° 19 is a personal top fave to-date. The olfactive families most reflective of me would be woody, ambery and a little of Fougère.

The 70s woman was different. She was an active woman, still feminine, but bolder and more prepared to openly express her individuality... unique and irreplaceable. Created by Henri Robert, the second CHANEL « nose », N° 19 heralded this change in the times and still bears witness to it. Its bouquet of white and green flowers is light, dynamic and yet still classic. A fragrance to inspire women to take new initiatives.

May Rose, iris, orange blossom. Flowers unfold, their fragrance is sealed in a bottle and a journey begins: to Grasse, Tuscany and Cap Bon, in the north-east of Tunisia. Three destinations to find three different essences. Iris is the most precious of them and six years are needed to obtain its odorous principle. Its very low yield and its unique olfactory properties mean that it is one of the rarest and most expensive natural raw materials in the world.

In 1970, N°19 created a combination of lightheartedness and sophistication, becoming a benchmark of olfactory composition throughout the world of perfumery. Its key notes blend the light and the scents of the Mediterranean, transporting its wearers to new horizons.

Floral, woody, green.

Top notes: Neroli from Grasse, Persian Galbanum.
Middle notes: Florence iris (orris), May Rose, French Narcissus.
Base notes: Virginian Cedarwood, Gaiac wood from Paraguay, Vetiver from Haiti.
